    4 sticks butter or margarine
    1 lb box dark brown sugar
    approximately 1 to 2 cups finely chopped pecans (I buy pecan meal at our local Wal-Mart which works well and saves time).
    Cook to 300 degrees on a candy thermometer. (It takes a while to reach 300 and mixture will become very thick and smell like it is about to burn. That's when it's ready)
    Pour on a cookie sheet that has been well buttered and sprinkled with the chopped nuts. Spread quickly. Lay 2 Large Hershey Bars that have been broken into pieces on top of the hot mixture. Allow to melt and then spread evenly with a spatula or knife. Sprinkle on the remaining nuts. Let cool 3-4 hours and break in pieces. Store in the refrigerator.
