Aunt Elsie's Pound Cake

1/2 cup butter
1/3 cup sugar
1 cup finely chopped pecans (I don't use this)
1-1/2 cup crushed vanilla wafers (I use graham cracker crumbs and make it 2-1/2 cups since I don't use the pecans)
Press topping on bottom and sides of a greased (Pam sprayed) tube or bundt pan.
1 Cup of butter
2 cups sugar
1 cup milk
1-1/2 teasp. vanilla
2-2/3 cups flour (minus 4 Tablespoons)
1-1/2 teasp. baking powder
1/2 teasp. salt
Cream butter and sugar add eggs and beat well. Mix in milk and vanilla alternating with dry ingredients. Bake at 350 (on a cookie sheet if using a tube pan) for 1 to 1-1/2 hours.
