Maple Cream Pie

    baked pie crust
    filling
    1 cup maple syrup
    l cup heavy cream
    2 tbsp butter
    warm on stove slowly
    two slightly beaten egg yolks
    1 tsp vanilla
    2 tbsp cornstarch
    mix with 1/4 c water
    add to first ingredients
    heat until thick stirring constantly
    pour into pie shell

    Meringue

    3 egg whites 1/2 tsp vanilla 1/4 tsp cream of tarter, combine three ingredients
    6 tsp sugar one at a time
    cover pie 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes
