Sour Cream Cookies

(5 dozen fat ones or 10 dozen tea size)
Ummmm! Just like Grandma made!
Place in blender or cuisinart
1 cup soft butter
2 cups brown or white sugar, or 1 cup each
1 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla or 1/2 teaspoon lemon extract, or grated peel of 1/2 lemon
Blend ingredients to a soft creamy texture.
Sift together into mixing bowl.
4 1/2 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
Pour liquid mixture into dry ingredients and stir smooth. Chill dough, then roll on lightly floured and sugared board. Sprinkle with sugar, Roll in very lightly and cut cookies.
Bake in a 375 degrees F., oven about 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
