Asparagus Lemon Pasta

1 1/2 lbs asparagus, cut in 1/2" slices
1 lb bow-tie pasta
6 tbls butter
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
zest from 3 lemons
1/4 cup lemon juice
3/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup fine chopped parsley
Steam asparagus, covered, til crisp-tender, about 3 minutes. Transfer to a colander and rinse under cold water to stop cooking. Drain well.
In a kettle bring 5 quarts salt water to a boil.
In a deep skillet heat butter and cream over med-low til butter is melted. Stir in zest, lemon juice, and salt. Take off heat and cover.
Add pasta to water and boil til done. Ladle 1/4 cup pasta water in sauce and stir. Drain pasta.
Add pasta and asparagus to sauce and cook over med, tossing, 1 minute, or til heated through. Add parsley and salt and pepper to taste and toss.
Sprinkle with Parmesan and serve more Parmesan on the side.
