Recipe Category: Dessert
Recipe Preparation Level: easy
    1 pkg. yeast
    1/2 cup butter
    1/3 cup sugar
    2 eggs
    3 1/2 cups flour
    2 tsp salt
    1/4 c. scalded milk
    1 can cherries
    3/4 c. sugar
    3 egg yolks
    3 egg whites

Add the butter to the scalded milk; add the sugar & salt. Dissolve the yeast in a little warm water, add to the above mixture & the beaten eggs. Add enough of the flour to make a soft dough. Grease a bowl & let the dough rise until doubled in bulk. Knead down. Let rise the second time. Pat or roll dough in a pan about 1/2 inch. Drain the cherries, put on the dough. Top with the egg yolks that have been creamed with the sugar. Fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites. Spread over the cherries. Bake in a 375 oven, 25 to 30 minutes.
