MyCookbook Recipe Database
MyCookbook Member: ladyhawk
Recipe Category: Dessert
Recipe Preparation Level: moderate
    1 cup raspberries
    1 cup blueberries
    1 cup sliced strawberries
    2 tablespoons sugar
    1 1/2 tablespoons orange liqueur
    1 teaspoon cornstarch
    Topping (recipe follows)
Half and half, whipped cream or vanilla ice cream,
    optional

Toss together berries and sugar in a 1 1/2 quart glass baking dish or similar oven proof bowl. Stir together liqueur and cornstarch in cup until smooth. Stir into berry mixture; set aside. Prepare topping and drop by heaping teaspoons around inside edge of bowl, forming collar of dough. Bake cobbler at 400 degrees 25-30 minutes, or until fruit juices bubble and topping is golden. Remove from oven and let stand 10 minutes to firm up. Spoon into 2 large dessert bowls. Pour in a little half & half or add dollops of whipped cream or ice cream, or serve plain. Serve warm.

Topping: Combine 1/2 cup flour, 1 tablespoon sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, stirring well to prevent any streaks of cinnamon. Cut in 1 tablespoon butter until mixture is crumbly. Stir in 1/4 cup milk, mixing briefly to make a sticky dough.
