Strawberries With Cream Meringue

1 quart firm ripe strawberries
1/4 cup almond paste
2 tablespoons sugar
1/3 cup orange juice
2 large egg whites at room temperature
6 tablespoons sugar
1/2 cup heavy cream, whipped
1/4 cup sour cream
Four hours before serving, hull, rinse, drain and slice berries; place in medium serving bowl with almond paste, 2 tablespoons sugar and the orange juice. Toll gently; refrigerate to allow flavors to blend. Two hours before serving, in small bowl of electric mixer, at low speed, beat egg whites until foamy. At high speed, beat in sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time; beat until thick and glossy. With rubber spatula, gently fold in whipped cream and the sour cream just until blended. Spread mixture over berries; refrigerate. Just before serving, sprinkle top with chocolate curls.
