filled cookies

    CREAM TOGETHER
    3 c. sugar
    2 c. lard (for that old time flavor)
    3 eggs
    ADD:
    1 c. milk
    in another bowl mix together:
    1 tsp. salt
    3 tsp. bakingpowder
    7 1/2 c. flour
    mix flour mixture with creamed mixture. Roll out and cut with round cutter or round drinking glass.
    Place cookies on greased cookie sheet. Place 1 tablespoon ( if large cookie) or 1 teaspoon ( if small cookie) of filling in center of cookie. Top with matching cookie and press edges together using fork dipped in flour. Bake in 350 oven till golden brown.
    I use strawberry jam and pineapple jam for mine.
