Melt 2 pounds bittersweet or dark chocolate in double boiler. Separate 8 eggs. Beat yolks with 1 cup sugar. Add to melted chocolate, beating. Beat egg whites till stiff and fold gently into chocolate. Add 1/2 cup dark rum. Pour while warm into small dishes. Top with whipped cream and toasted almonds.
