Serve over rice or stuff in tortillas.
3 lbs boneless chuck roast
1 pkg Lipton's onion soup mix
1 large onion, chopped
1 cup red wine
1/2 cup water
3 tbls oil
1/2 cup picante sauce
Heat oven to 325F. Heat oil in a Dutch oven, over medium high. Add beef and brown on all sides. Reduce heat, add onion and cook soft but not brown. Add onion soup mix, wine, water and picante sauce. Bring to boil. Cover and put in oven for about 3 hours. Check occasionally to make sure there is enough liquid in bottom of pan; add more wine if necessary. Before serving shred. Feeds 6 hungry people.
