Molasses BBQ Sauce

    1/4 c. cornstarch
    4 c. lemon juice
    2 c. cooking oil
    1 (12oz) jar light or dark molasses
    1/4 c. salt
    1 TBSP black pepper
    6 bay leaves, broken into pieces
    3 cloves garlic, minced

    Combine cornstarch and lemon juice in a saucepan. Cook and stir over low heat until mixture bubbles and thickens. Cool. Using rotary or electric beater, beat in remaining ingredients until thoroughly blended and thickened. Store in refrigerator untill needed. Yields: 2 qts.
