Homemade microwave macarone and cheese

Note: I double this recipe for my large family
3 c. cooked elbow macaroni
3 T butter or margarine
3 T all-purpose flour
1/2 t. salt
2 c. milk
2 c. (8 oz) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
1. Prepare macaroni and set aside.
2. Melt butter in 2-qt glass casserole in microwave oven. (about 1 min at High) Add flour, salt and pepper; mix well. Add milk gradually, stirring constantly. Cook uncovered 6 minutes at High; stir every 2 minutes.
3. Add cheese to sauce; stir. Cook uncovered in microwave oven 1 minute at High.
4. Add cook macaroni to cheese sauce; mix. Cook uncovered in microwave oven 8 minutes at Medium-High; stir halfway through cooking period.
I like to serve this with kielbasa or pork and a vegetable. Any leftover meat can be cut up and added to the macaroni and cheese for lunch the next day. It tastes great!
