1 c. SIFTED flour
1/4 c. sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1 c. yellow cornmeal
1 c. milk
1/4 c. shortening
Oven 425*. For the BEST results, use a 9" cast-iron skillet, greased, or a 9x9" pan, greased.
Sift flour with sugar, baking powder, salt and cornmeal. Add eggs, milk and shortening. Beat just till smooth. Pour into greased pan and bake 20-25 minutes or till golden brown.
