Recipe Preparation Level: moderate
1/4 c. margarine or butter
4 oz. (4 squares) unsweetened chocolate
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
In large saucepan, melt margarine and chocolate over low heat, stirring constantly, to avoid scorching. Remove from heat, cool slightly. Beat in eggs and sugar.
Mix flour, baking powder and salt; stir in walnuts. Add to chocolate mixture. Stir well, chill dough, at least, 30 minutes.
Heat oven to 300*. (300* is correct)
Shape dough into 1" balls and roll in powdered sugar to coat heavily. Place 2 inches apart on UNGREASED cookie sheets for 15-18 minutes or until edges are 'set'. Remove from sheets to cooling racks immediately. Makes about 4 dozen.
THESE ARE A 'MUST' AT OUR HOUSE FOR CHRISTMAS BAKING! THEY DISAPPEAR FAST, THOUGH!!!
