2 smoked ham hocks
1 lb great northern or navy beans
3 chicken buillion cubes
1/2 tsp cumin
3/4 tsp chili powder
1 28 oz can tomatoes
1 med onion
1 med carrot
1 large celery stalk w/leaves
2 Qts water
Salt and pepper to taste
Cook beans according to package directions. Place beans and remaining ingredients into a large pot and cook for several hours or until beans are tender.
For a thicker soup puree approx 1/3 of soup in a blender and stir back into the pot.
