Baked Lemon Pudding

2 eggs, separated
1/4 tsp salt
6 Tbsp sugar, divided
1 Tbsp grated lemon peel
1 1/2 Tbsp lemon juice
1 Tbsp melted butter
2 Tbsp flour
1 cup milk
Thin lemon slices and maraschino cherry slices for garnish
Preheat oven to 350. Grease a 1 quart casserole. Beat egg whites with salt until soft peaks form. Gradually add 4 Tbsp of the sugar, beating until stiff. Beat egg yolks with lemon peel, juice and melted butter until blended. Mix remaining 2 Tbsp sugar with flour; blend into yolk mixture. Blend in milk. Gently fold in egg whites. Pour batter into casserole; place in larger pan with about 1 " water. Bake 55-65 minutes, or until top of pudding is firm and brown. Garnish. Serve warm or chilled.
